UKCAT Courses, Are They Worth It?

ukcat courses worth it

There are a lot of companies offering online UKCAT courses and UKCAT crash courses to prepare the UKCAT, with most being relatively pricey, are they actually worth it?

Simply put, Yes they are! You just have to make sure to pick a good one and work smartly.

UKCAT courses give you an edge over the other candidates because you are learning directly from experienced professionals that have helped thousands prepare for the exam, they are familiar with all the question-types, pitfalls and common mistakes candidates makes, and can offer tips, advice and strategies to boost your score. However, it is important these courses are  used smartly. I recommended before your course take the time to identify your weakest subtest, once you’ve identified this, make it a priority on the day of your course and learn as many tips and techniques possible from the UKCAT tutors. You want to squeeze out as much advice as possible from them. I wouldn’t recommend focusing on all sections equally, make your weakest sections the priority. I remember when I attempted the UKCAT the second time, I paid for a 2-day UKCAT crash course, overall it was good as it focused on all the sections of the exam, but in hindsight, I would’ve preferred to have spent those two days working on my two weakest subtests, verbal reasoning, and quantitative reasoning. I didn’t take full advantage of the course, I did no prior preparation so had no clue what I needed to improve, so it is no surprise my UKCAT score  didn’t improve much.

“Before your course take the time to identify your weakest subtest, once you’ve identified it make it a priority on the day of your course and learn as many tips and techniques as possible from the UKCAT tutors”

UKCAT courses are worth it when you are consistently  targeting your weakest areas. The following are my pick of UKCAT courses to prepare for the UKCAT in 2018.
